On 15 March 2018 – Phuket had an event “Launch of Stared Beach Project”. The 13 beaches (Maikhao, Naiyang, Naithorn, Bangthao, Surin, Kamala, Patong, Tritrang, Karon, Kata, Naiharn, Coral Island and Racha Island) will be inspected by the committee during 19-21 March and 26-28 March 2018, using the criteria for environmental assessment. There are 4 aspects of Environmental Management, Environmental Pollution, Tourism Management and Integrity of Nature. The announcement will take place in July 2018.
